Mayoral meeting to discuss far west nsw future

Councillor John Rees, Mayor Andrew Gillard's special adviser on transport and public transport, told ABC News Breakfast that, given the current situation, the Council needs a plan that will attract enough people and businesses to support the project to have a sustainable plan of action in the longer term.

"What we need to do is, we need to have a plan that enables us to attract business to come here, to do our part," he said.

"So what we've done, is we've made investments in some of the sites which is why the current scheme is going forward. But what we need to do is, to go forward with the proposal that we have to be sustainable and be able to sustain a project like this for the long term," he said.

The Mayor and his staff have been working closely with consultants from the NSW Government, who have been helping to develop the plan for Council's future role.

Nsw man extradited to wa over alleged murder and other crimes

The male pulled the victim into the rear seat of his car, pulled his pants down, and began to sexually assault the victim."

While Robert Smith is not currently on probation for all of the crimes he's been indicted for, if he was on parole in California today, he would face a minimum of five years, according to the California Department of Justice.

If he is convicted for another crime, the maximum would be 15 years in prison.

But in California, parole is not the same as a death sentence. The "defendant may not go on parole while convicted of any other federal crime" and is prohibited from receiving benefits while being on parole, according to the state department.
